Why did I decide to become a franchisee of a Music company?
As a new Mum I went to Jolly Babies with my young baby and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of learning new songs, meeting mums who were similar to me and simply going out for a structured music session every week.
On moving to the Newbury area I was disappointed to learn that there were no franchisees running sessions in the town and was asked by the owners to consider running sessions of my own…….15 years on and I’m still having the most amazing fun!!!!!
I am a trained singer and have played a number of instruments but had not considered this as a career, having studied at university for something completely different.
I am privileged to be able to share so many firsts with families – first word, first step, first clap… and getting to know groups of children and their carers is so rewarding….. I am being paid to have so much fun and thank all of my clients for making my “job” so enjoyable!
About My Classes
Music with Mummy is a very ethical company that simply wants children to be able to have the experience of music from a young age and also to give mums like me the opportunity to work flexibly around my family at very little cost. Music with Mummy prides itself on running small, friendly, educational music groups in which young children can experience a range of skills, using percussion instruments, action songs, musical games and concepts, interaction with peers and adults, learning more about their world and experiences whilst also teaching listening skills.
The sessions are limited to only 10 children so that I can get to know the children and mothers personally, meeting individual needs and preferences and creating a great social experience for all.
In Newbury, there is a choice of sessions depending on your child’s age….Jolly Babies, Music with Mummy and Three Four Time
Hi Ruth, I just wanted to say thank you for a lovely session this morning, 'D' and I really enjoyed it! We are looking forward to attending the face to face sessions next month 😀
Ruth is lovely and so enthusiastic and 'E' loves these classes. Its very jolly, he really gets involved 😊
We attended, nearly 7 month old 'E's' first ever 'Mum and Baby' group today. Ruth is really lovely and welcoming, everything felt clean and safe and the little bag containing sensory toys was great. I loved the mix of songs and how some were action ones, some involved a sensory object and some involved moving our bodies too. 'E' had a great time and fell asleep in the car on the way home. Thanks Ruth!
